affirmations to overcome trauma

we will often find that whenever we’re ready to take the next step, our bodies will try to fall into expired routes. patterns, thoughts, and behaviors we acquired to get through the storm- becoming instinctual.

so how do we overcome the overwhelming feeling of pouring rain when the sun is shining?

we affirm.

here are a few of my favorite affirmations to remind my nervous system that we are present and safe….

  • you are safe.

  • i deserve to heal and feel better.

  • no one is mad at you.

  • you’re not in trouble.

  • it’s okay for me to ask for help.

  • my voice and feelings are valid.

  • i am allowed to take up space.

  • it’s not my job to fix others.

  • i’m not responsible for the emotions of others.

  • it’s okay to say no.

  • i am here now.

  • i don’t need permission to exist.

  • today is a gift and i am blessed to be here.

    repeating affirmations helps rewire and reprogram our brains so that we can start living in a state of thriving rather than survival.
